Fundraiser
In an effort to expand the Museum's public facilities to include a Visitor's Welcome Center, Lecture Hall and Exhibit Space, an Educational Center is being planned.
The Friends of Rock Hall have raised $290,000 towards this important project through a combination of fundraising events, membership donations, and pledges. But we need your help to complete the project! All donations are welcome. Let’s Get It Built!
Your support of $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or any amount will make a difference.
In 2012, the Board of Directors of the Friends of Rock Hall voted to construct a Visitor's Welcome Center on the Rock Hall landmark property in Lawrence, New York. The Friends of Rock Hall are committed to address the critical impact of long term access, preservation and interpretation of this landmark site:
Development of an orientation area.
Creation of space for exhibits, lectures, meetings and public events.
Installation of handicap accessible restroom facilities for visitors.
Relocation of events for large programs.
Design scheme
The visitor center will replicate an 19th century English barn. The barn features include an audience style main gallery and accessible facilities. Efforts will be made to create a building in the image of a prior outbuilding on the property, complimentary to Rock Hall.
